ChéVon (Hartford, CT) – Soliloquy
In the age filled with many MCs who wish to be “the next big thing”, the story of 20-year old Connecticut raised ChéVon (born Chevaughno Glaves) is motivated more than ever to fulfill his dreams. The unsigned artist of Connecticut, ChéVon made himself known throughout high school as a graduate of 2011 when he released his freshman mixtape, ‘Mind Of a Genius’.
Currently working on his second mixtape ‘The Radiant Child’, ChéVon wishes to show the world his tremendous versatile flows to many original songs such as “Soliloquy”, “Poor Nawies” , “Lower” and many more. The mixtape not only recapitulates ChéVon’s versatility and creativity but also his passion and motivation for making music.
After arriving to Connecticut from Jamaica at the age of 6, ChéVon quickly saturated himself in Hip-Hop, Rap, R&B, and many more varieties of music. Six years later he was invited to write a verse on his first track by his 17 year old cousin, Nick Bagz, “Left — Right”. After it was finished his cousin invited everyone in the house to listen to it. As the room was filled with music, everyone was astonished and couldn’t believe a 12 year wrote those lyrics. With little experience and a big heart ChéVon began to advance in writing his own lyrics, while promising that the death of his cousin wouldn’t bring him down but only inspire him more to become an Artist. ChéVon is looking to express his music as he goes by his own quote “If I can’t tell people where I came from, what’s the point of showing them how far I’ve gotten..”
