C.P.F. is the first in his family to be born in the states. Like many others growing up in the urban areas of Philadelphia, he went through his share of struggles and set backs. Music was always playing in the house. With his family being Jamaican, reggae music was a must. Also his mother loved Whitney Houston and his uncle who lived with them listened to west coast hip-hop a lot. One of the first songs Chris can recall is “Jin and Juice” by Snoop Dog. His uncle would play it every morning while driving him to school. This helped influence Chris love and taste for music. While attending Lower Merion High School, Chris took to writing poems. He didn’t take this to seriously until people started to take notice. This made Chris recognize his talents and start taking music seriously. With the help of his older step brother, he built a small recording studio in his father’s basement. Here he started recording songs and mixtapes to put on social networking sites to get his name out there. In 2009 Chris dreams began to unfold. Coining his stages name C.P.F he teamed up with Dj Alamo, one of the hottest dj’s in New Jersey, he released his first official mixtape “Leave It Up To Me”. This mixtape was a huge success as the underground began to take notice. In 2012 he teamed up with Dj Nophrillz, releasing his second mixtape “fix ya face”. This made a great impact on the cyber world and in the streets. Solidifying himself as a real MC with an uncompromising work ethic, C.P.F. still felt something was missing. He needed to give his fans some visual stimulation. With the help of director Darryl Jones and Amber Halsey, he released an outstanding 7 cutting edge music videos in 2012 alone. This helped show off this creative and innovative style. In 2013 C.P.F. released another mixtape “Leave a Message”, and also a lot of calabo songs with various artists. He also released 5 more music videos and a single “Ballin for Dummies’ on iTunes. This was his first song to hit the main stream airways on LA on Power 106 fm. Later he joined up with New Orleans own “Soul Avengers” to form the group “Cash Route Gang”. They went to release their first LP titled “The Cash Route’ which was contracted under INgrooves digital distribution. Also in 2013 C.P.F. was the only Philadelphia native to be invited to present an award at the NOLA Hip Hop Awards. He also released his first video on VEVO titled “Stunt”, and was invited to perform at the Philly Hip Hop Awards, which was a personal goal he set for himself the year before. As for right now C.P.F. is currently working on “Leave A Message 2”.
