Growing up in an environment where early on his mom struggled with alcoholism and a father who was not in the picture. “I became a man very young”. Being the oldest of nine Calvin took care of his siblings. And at 19 would take full custody over two of them.

“I fell in love with hip hop at the age of 10.. I remember driving around and listening to 2pac in my mothers boyfriend’s car.. knew every word”. His first performance would be after watching House Party 3. “We used to write down raps and perform for the girls across the st.” It was within this period the roots were born for what was later to come!

Upon turning 14 he and his family moved out of Brockton and to Raynham about 15 minutes away from his old house. As he came into his own, there was a period of rebel around his teenage years that would later get him in trouble. While hustling to put food on the table Calvin was caught and received a jail sentence. While away the Department of Social Services took two of his siblings from his mother. Calvin was awarded full custody of them when he was released at the age of 19. He not only still has rights to them but also is a proud father of two young boys.

July 14 2010 in Tommy’s Lounge Pawtucket, RI Eastcoast Cally would take stage for the first time. Throwing up before the show but then coming out to a packed house and shutting it down. It would be after this show he would come in contact with Lamont, one of New England’s biggest promoters. From this relationship he received the opportunity to open up for Vado April 8th 2011. One year to date he has now opened for Meek Mill, Fabolous, Dj Khaled, Ace Hood, Sheek Louch, Jim Jones, Lloyd Banks, French Montana, and Fred the Godson.

Cally released his first mixtape in March 29 2011 entitled A trip 2 Cally. The inspiration for the cd finally came after he had it with the 9-5 rat race. His favorite song on the cd is “Cally state of mind” which portrays what he was going through at the time of the cd creation.

His next mixtape was released Feb 22 2012 entitled A trip to cally 2 reloaded. Taking this mixtape to the next level Calvin brought in Lamont to use his connections to bring in legendary Vinny Idol of D Block and XXL magazines freshmen of the year Fred the Godson to do a couple tracks. This would later pay off by having air play on new england’s biggest hip hop station Hot 97.7. Following would be a partnership with Vinny for his next album coming Winter 2013. Calvin’s favorite song off A trip to cally 2 is (House Hold Struggles). “Its my life Story”.

Mostly inspired by fans wanting merchandise at shows. In December 2011 the “Hard Money Gang” clothing launch began. Which includes both mens and women’s clothing. In April of 2012 he sought out for management due to the demand of his music and clothing. Justin Evans was hired to take on the task of business relations as well as artist management. Together a blueprint was devised to be able to distribute to the world! The best tracks out of the two mixtapes were chosen to be released that summer using eastcoastcally.com. Affiliations with Apple, Youtube, and Google were established. Currently relationships are being built with Pandora Music as well as Comcast Music Choice.

“In life no one is going to give you anything…you have to take it.. this is how I take it.” His words on being signed to a major recording company.

“Some people chase careers.. I chase dreams!!” EC
