JJ DAE lives his music. When he strings his guitar or tickles the keys on his piano, you feel the life of JJ DAE. JJ adds to this life with his vocals in songs and or rap lyrics. In spite of the plethora of rap artists who may be emerging from the south, JJ Davis is standing out with his different interpretation of the genre. Hailing from Duncan SC., JJ has a unique style where he fuses hip hop and soul all with his voice and instruments. His borderline eccentricity and artistic mind is no way near the stereotypical and conventional dirty south music but is all the way “southern soul”. JJ has been compared to Outcast, B.O.B. and Darius Rucker from Hootie and the Blowfish. JJ influences extend from Moris Day and the Time, Prince and the Boston Orchestra to John Mayer and Frank Ocean. JJ discovered his talent and interest in playing the guitar while in college and after hearing a song by Fergie was inspired to play the guitar on the serious level. It has been almost 2 years and JJ travailing up and down the Carolinas to spread his music of life, love, and having a good time.
