Named after the mythical angel said to be the “scribe of God”, the Cleveland MC, Metatron is definitely aiming to bring consciousness back in to Hip-Hop. Born in Columbus, Ohio, Metatron grew up around hip hop all his life. His older siblings introduced him to Hip-Hop, at a very young age, through artists such as Jay-Z, Nas, 2Pac, Biggie and DMX. Inspired by his brother and fellow AHE crew member, E-Jay, Metatron began freestyling as early as 7 years old! Through his teen years, Metatron struggled to find his own unique voice and translate it into song form, so he began exploring music on his own for inspiration. He became influenced by artists like Outkast, Kendrick Lamar, Mos Def, Janelle Monae, even George Clinton and Jimi Hendrix. Metatron’s goal in music is to push Hip-Hop in a progressive direction while remaining one of sharpest lyricists among his peers.
