Jean-Claude, is a Rochester, NY native that started rapping at the age of 12. Jean-Claude was blessed to have both parents in his life to keep his grades up, but he could not escape the harsh reality of the mean streets right outside his door. His friends were in the game and he decided to join them. Jean-Claude struggled with the decision to do what he felt was necessary to survive, but he decided to find a way out with something he loved, rapping. Jean-Claude’s decision to rap became one of the best decisions he could’ve ever made. At the young age of 20, Jean-Claude has seen and experienced a lot, but he wants the world to know that he is here to stay and conquer the rap game. As Convict, Jean-Claude has dropped 3 mixtapes, teamed up with YNA, featured on the Grind Hard DVD, performed for BET Awards Weekend Artist 2 Know, The Peace Fest, The Penny Arcade, Water Street, and much more! This “Big Man on Campus” has been knocked down and pulled in all directions throughout his life at a young age. As an artist, he expresses what many people his age go through and how sometimes you have to stand alone as one force, one movement in his mixtape “One Man Army” hosted by DJ Zeke, which dropped September 11, 2012 but is still going strong.

He also loves to give back to his community and he did just that with his Wrapping for Rochester” event. The 1st Annual Wrapping for Rochester is a benefit for underprivileged families in the Rochester community presented by Inner Beauty Salon and Young and Affiliated Incorporated. The event was held December 15, 2012 at the Thomas A. Ryan Community Center. Families in the greater Rochester community who are at an economic disadvantage had the opportunity to go Christmas shopping for the loved ones in their household at no cost to them. New or mildly used toys, clothing, household items, non-perishable foods, and school supplies for children and adults were donated. The 1st Annual Wrapping for Rochester attracted many families from the Rochester community who were in need of assistance for the holiday season. Jean-Claude loves what he does and on January 22nd in Atlanta, GA, he performed at the 4th Annual Salute the DJs Award Show. In conjunction with the award show, he dropped a mixtape called “Salute the DJ”. When asked what prompted the name change, Jean-Claude stated that “There were many negative connotations that came with the name Convict. I’m getting older and I’m not in that space anymore nor do I want to be seen as such.” With big changes comes big things and that’s what Jean-Claude is all about.

Jean-Claude has been doing a lot of traveling from California to Las Vegas to NYC & back and forth to Atlanta. On the grind making a lot of power moves, performing and walking red carpets and most of all networking with the right people. His hustle has landed him on the cover of Rochester’s Your Promo Mag and has been featured in WWS Magazine, Erbane Galore Magazine, and The Underground Hip Hop Blog. He has interviewed with NYU College Radio, The Biz with D, Be100 Radio, owned by Debra Antney and Wacka Flocka, and many more.

Jean-Claude proves that he’s here to stay as he teams up with some of the heavy hitters in NYC Such as Lazy K to host his newest hit record “Let Out” produced by RevolvaRome. On top of that, later this year he plans to release an EP entitled “Good Grades, Bad Decisions” hosted by DJ Zeke of the College Club Kings.
