Sum-01 & LXVNDR – “Girls Step Up” (MiLKCRATE Remixes)
When Sum-01, a female MC from London, Ontario teamed up with Lxvndr, East Coast Hip-Hop femcee to record ‘Girls Step Up’ in the summer of 2019, they had no idea the reception it would receive. Originally released on the ‘Makin’ Moves EP’ on Black Buffalo Records, July 3rd 2020.
This track is a stand-out feature track on the project. Sum-01’s calculable flows blended with Lxvndr’s quick-witted rhymes, the two MC’s balance each other synergistically on this DJ Moves track. MiLKCRATE picked up on this and decided to dedicate not one, but two, custom boom-bap remixes to honour this femme forward Hip-Hop duo.
