Jay-White – “Thats Me” Prod. By Purps
A threat to the rap game, Jay-White (born Jonathan Poole) has emerged on the North Carolina rap scene ready to murder the industry. With an up north flow, mixed with a southern influence Jay-White’s style is unclassifiable. Jay-White began using writing as an outlet for his emotions at the age of 10 and completed his first song by the age of 12. Hip-hop and his love for music provide an escape from the emotional consequences of the many hardships he has battled since his youth.
Despite having a focus on music since his early years, Jay-White was not invincible to the dangers of the street life. After dropping out of high school, Jay found a way to survive by hustling in the streets. Once the realization struck, that the dope game was taking him away from his goals, he returned his focus to music and got back to writing his rhymes, exposing some of his own life’s experiences.
Jay-White lost his mother, brother and father before the age of 25. He experienced the horror stories that most know only through the lyrics of their favorite rapper. He has reached the low points that many fear, but has never lost sight of his dream to keep Hip-hop alive.
Taking not only the art of storytelling, but also a unique business strategy, from his favorite artists, Jay-White, CEO of Pure Ink Records has plans to make his story part of Hip-hops history. The saying “get rich or die trying,” has become the day by day virtue that Jay-White lives by. Together, his technical prowess mixed with his original voice will protect Jay-White from being another rap fad. Jay-White, a talented artist with no boundaries, is here to stay.
