The young North Carolina native “J. Ara” has definitely came out of the starting blocks in the Music Industry.With his deep but crafty lyrics, his laid back rapid-fire delivery will undoubtedly earn him a top spot in the rap world. By being full of swag, but uniquely different, J.Ara reaches out to audiences all across America. When asked what his main motivation was in music he simply responds, “I just decided to embrace what a lot of other artist hadn’t, and that’s REALITY”
Coming From the old drug related streets of Lenoir NC, J. Ara was no stranger to harsh life. At the age of 11 he had to witness the Pain of watching his mother deal with the murder of her older brother from senseless violence. By age 17 he became rebellious to his parents indulging in the street life, and by age 18 he was homeless. Broke and on the streets, bad decisions would lead J.Ara into some dark situations and severe punishments physically, mentally, and emotionally. “This was a point in my life that I felt like all I had was music”.
J. Ara’s influences go down the line from Jay Z, Nas, Lil Wayne to even Drake, but who he would describe as the most important musical influence in his life would be the late but great Tupac Shakur. “I always felt like a natural born leader, and Pac always gave me that inspiration to follow my heart no matter what”. Though borrowing inspiration from each of his influences, J.Ara manages to still be original and fall into his own lane.
