Panax – “Sheer” EP (Album Review)
Panax is a Vancouver, Canada recording artist emerging to become the next big act to come out of the 6 with his brand new introductory EP entitled, ‘Sheer’.
Coming out of the gate swinging on “Gold,” Panax inquires about the aforementioned category of rappers that abandon a true musician’s hustle, The entire twenty-one minute tracklist renders itself as an honest line of questioning from an artist caught between his harsh realities and impending fame. Other tracks such as “Remind Me,” “I’m Yours,” and “We Made” reiterate Panax hunger, highlighting his strong vocals and range that goes the distance.
The way Panax slows himself down and gently exhales his rhymes is a testament of growth as a vocalist. A technique not often showcased by a rising act finding themselves. Panax is showing foreshadowing of being one of the most exciting new artists of the new age era. Panax makes sure to pay homage to the new Vancouver sound that inspired many of new school artists.
