One of the most celebrated phrases in rap history tells us that cash rules everything around us, and to call himself E.A.R.N. Money, this lyrical assassin representing “Nogood Norwood” based in the birthplace of hip hop—Bronx, New York—his eyes are undoubtedly on the prize. E.A.R.N. (Everyday Always Real Nigga), spits verses seasoned by the influence of some of the greatest to ever do it, including Big Punisher, The Notorious BIG, Jay-Z, Cam’ron, and T.I. to name a few, but with his own twist of course. From his hit mixtapes including Take Off featured on DatPiff.com, plus the head-nod-inducing “Clapped Up” collaboration with producer and RMP Music Group CEO Arizona Ronn on the acclaimed From Harlem to The Hamptons project, E.A.R.N. is not only earning money, but also his stripes in the music industry. But it’s not all about simply words that rhyme, the swaggering MC states; it’s his life.
“I knew making music was my calling, especially after dropping out of college,” Mr. Money says while shooting a game of pool in a local hall of the Boogie Down. “After meeting Arizona Ronn from the RMP, I really began putting my life on wax, leading to the song ‘Clapped Up.’ This got me street notoriety, but I would say it wasn’t until me and Billz Brigante linked up that I began to create music and not just rap.”
Billz, his manager, corralled E.A.R.N.’s talent and passion, and they are collectively geared to change the game with the emcee’s debut album, Road To Success. After pocketing the 8 ball for the win, E.A.R.N. says, “The creation of the Road To Success is a story that I wanted to tell about a man who is basically stuck; I’m going on a journey to find my way and from track 1 to 11, you’re on that road with me. It’s my book, my story, and it’s not a quick read, but it will be enjoyable.” Taking a second of thought, he concludes, “This album’s like a book you can’t put down.”
