Mixtape Review: Xali (Bronx, NY) The American House Slave
Honestly as rarely we come across a new and unique style, Xali truly developed a style and rhyme cadence that is much-needed in Hip Hop nowadays. Along side all the beats are heavy as hell yet subtle & full of substance. “The American House Slave” MIXTAPE launched 1.11.14 and from what we have read on other BLOGS it has gained a lot of recognition in the Indie Hip Hop game. Xali delivers nothing but extreme storytelling from track to track especially with a sick intro. A 20 track mixtape might seem over worked to some MC’s who are haters but for Xali to push a Mixtape with 20 tracks probably was a huge weight off his back, being able to express himself as a true artist.
All the tracks are solid with great Conscious & political raps and heavy underground beats with stories that anybody can relate too, but the track that really stood out to me was “Dead Presidents” which allowed me to easily paint a picture in my head regarding the girl he was spitting about along side understanding the storytelling as easy as possible. Followed by a track called “Kick.Back” that was super sick. After listening to this whole MIXTAPE it made us all aware that there is a true Artist on the rise in the Bronx and his name is Xali!!!……………………………UndergroundHipHopBLOG.com
“Pushing a 20 track MIXTAPE is a suicide move to many MC’s, but for Xali’s “The American House Slave” Mixtape he has set a bar high as fuck in Hip Hop that many will not pass….His wordplay is SuperILL & I’m ready to bump this whole Mixtape in my car tonight while puffin on the finest Cali Green!!!!” ——––Co-Founder of UndergroundHipHopBLOG.com
