Sosh B – Q&A Interview
Queens, NY Hip Hop is a new sheriff in town. When did you decide to start making Hip Hop? Give us a brief story on how you got your artist name SOSH B
Well I’m from South Side Jamaica queens. One of my homies named me Sosh. I was new to the block on 164th and 89th ave and I use to just come out side with my new kicks and pretty Boi swag. “SUAVE” just said I was cool as hell and just said sosh. Ya name sosh. U just a cool dude. He was the one in the hood that gave every one nick names for some reason and it stuck.
How has NY Hip Hop influenced you. Queens, NY has gave birth to some of the greatest MC’s in Hip Hop history so being from Queens how do you feel about that.
I feel I’m another thread off the Queens cloth of hiphop. Big shoes to fill but my feet are still growing. Ladies love LL and they will definitely love Sosh as well.
Your latest mixtape “Window Pain” has possibly been the most solid project mixtape for 2016 to date.. Feel free to breakdown the creative process of the project. (features, production, etc).
Well, my partner Alvin from 435 ent told me he had a vision. He gave me the title Window pain. It was a play on words, how an artist that’s hot & in their on lane have to adapt to the industry standard. I’m looking at the game in pain like it’s my time to be heard but they not paying attention. My job was to make them notice. And the tape was born.
Any videos coming out to compliment the project?
I’m shooting two videos in April 2016 for this project so the people can get a visual to match. You will be the first to get it.
How did your buzz get started? Also what are your plans in getting your music known nationwide?
I been at this for a while. I have an extensive resume. Hovever I just haven’t caught that break but it’s COMING! I rep jersey as well so my 435 ent family has plans on dropping my official single and video on iTunes this July. We going hard this year!!
Are you looking forward in working with other artists? Do you like collaborating with other artists?
In the past I worked with numerous artist from Busta Rhymes, Kay Slay, Dj Envy, Grafh and Ghostface. But I as of now I have some tricks up my sleeve that will surprise the culture. Just wait and see. I love collaborating with artist. The hot ones. No lemons!
What is your definition of “underground hip hop”?
Underground hip hop is pure! It’s original. It’s energetic and sets trends. The underground is the holy grail. You can’t get to the top with out starting from the underground.
