Aven – “Pre-Hyperbolic” EP (Album Review)

Who would have known that Rosamond, CA, would have one of the most prominent up and coming MC’s in underground Hip Hop today! Aven drops his new EP titled “Pre-Hyperbolic”, an 9 track project that really hits hard, elaborating on his everyday struggles of life and hip-hop life.  Only speaking on 100% facts, nothing is sugarcoated is his lyrics, exactly what real underground hip-hop should be!  The rawness and originality in his sound really sets him apart as well, pushing the limits on deep melodic boom bap Hip Hop.  It’s not everyday you can come across young MC’s who are clearly preserving the true sound of underground Hip Hop and not follow into the “TRAP” trap!!

Aven’s track Tokin’ has to be my favorite tracks on the EP! This track really bleeds “DOPENESS”, the beat, voice and story is absolutely INSANE!! And to top it off, his vicious throwback cartoon visual makes the song even better!!  Another track that can’t be slept on is “Move” Ft The Catalyst, both these dudes spit some real FIRE on this track! The track that really hung over my head for days what “Evelyn”, such a powerful story about a troubled 10-year-old girl, going through some real life shit!!  Much respect goes out to the dope producers featured on this EP as well, looks like each track has a different producer, and still Aven perfects each beat to the fullest!
