Mixtape Review: "IM OUT HERE" by PLAY /// UndergroundHipHopBLOG.com
Respect to MO THUGS repesentative PLAY, from Santa Ana California. Never heard of PLAY until he personally reached out to us with an impressive catalog of music we couldn’t refuse. Being his 3rd time being featured on UndergroundHipHopBLOG.com, we are showcasing his mid 2012 release “IM OUT HERE”. It’s a benefit in today’s scene when a so-cal native like Play is reppin Hip Hop at the level of most in the Mo Thugs organization, a movement who’s influence in Hip Hop stretches to more than a decade.
“IM OUT HERE” is a 20 track release with a hardcore westcoast feel to it. Front to back we weren’t disappointing since we are fans of influencial west coast rap. Songs to highlight are: “REAL SHIT”, “ENJOY MYSELF”, “DECISIONS” ft. GRIMACE, & “CAN I LIVE”. These paticular joints take us back to the golden era of Hip Hop. Credit is due when it comes down to the beat selection on the projects. Beats definitely fit the lyrical style Play brings to the table. We feel with this mixtape, Play has just given us a lil taste of whats to come in the future. Tune in, and follow his every move.
