Charris (London) – “Vol 1” (Beat Tape)

Charris – “Vol 1” is a collection of beats made over the last 6 months. Although each track offers something different, there is a distinct unity felt in this project. Tracks such as West Cepen Way and Gritty City offer floating rhodes parts interspersed with delicate bass; Itutu and Mistakes provide an uplifting jazzy flavour; Escobar Status offers a much darker, bass-driven experience.

Charris is an up and coming hip hop producer hailing from north London. As a drummer and experienced live musician, he turned his hand to production about five years ago. With a background in many different genres of music, he has only recently began producing hip hop. Influenced by artists such as Eric Lau, Dexter and Suff Daddy, his style blends classic “old school” sampling techniques with live instrumentation, always trying to maintain a soulful element to his music. Today he is working on collaborations with rappers, and has some exciting projects in the mix.
