Sin City Cairo – “Crossroads” (Video)
Korollos Nakhla, also known by his stage name “Sin City Cairo” was born on February 13,1987 to a poor Egyptian family. Being a first generation Egyptian American, he feels it’s his mission to give his family the life he says, “they deserve”. Always being passionate about music, as far back as his elementary school years, Sin City Cairo always knew music was what he’s always wanted to do with his life.
At the age of nine Sin City Cairo joined his elementary school choir with hopes of one day becoming and R&B singer. It wasn’t until he entered middle school that he fell in love with a different genera of music that would soon define his whole life. He grew up listening to hip hop but it was until he heard Eminem for the first time that he became infatuated with the art and the culture around it. At the age of 12, Sin City Cairo picked up the pen and pad and hasn’t dropped it since. Learning as he grew and harnessing his skills wasn’t enough for this young artist.
At the age of 19, Sin City Cairo met another up and coming hip hop artist, “J Krook” and together they formed a group called, “Tormented Souls”. Together these two young emcee put out a mixtape titled “Made in Las Vegas”. This poorly produced mixtape show cased the two emcee battling for recognition back and forth in a verbal lyrical assault verse for verse.
Sin City Cairo now with a little more experience set out to create his own mixtape self titled “The Birth Of Cairo”. Another poor quality mixtape which was self-produced, self mixed and self engineered. Sin City Cairo would later viewed this project as a work in progress.
It wasn’t until Sin City Cairo’s 3rd mixtape self titled, “This Game is Mine” that he finally felt he was ready. His goal with this mixtape was to reach the ears of the right people in the underground Las Vegas Hip Hop music world. This Mixtape was quite helpful for the young rappers career, not only was he offered a record deal, “which he declined”. He was also introduced to, “Camel Hump Music” where he records his music today.
Sin City Cairo was featured on a mixtape titled, “I am Vegas Music”. This mixtape was a collection of up and coming underground Las Vegas emcee who just needed the opportunity to get some recognition. Through a grueling month of competing with emcees from around the Las Vegas area Sin City Cairo was able to make the cut. The track, “I do that” feature Chillz and Young Dizzle show cased the three emcees lyrical abilities and distinct styles. At the end of this recording process, the owner of the studio approach Sin City Cairo and let him know he was really impressed with his performance and Drive. He later asked Sin City Cairo if he had a demo that he could help him submit to A&Rs, so he can help him get a proper recording contract. Sin City Cairo feeling like his past work wasn’t up to par, set out to produce what he hoped would be what he called, “worthy enough to submit”.
Not too long after that Sin City Cairo met “J Battle”, a Seattle-based emcee who gave him what he needed from day one, “The Wave Plug Ins” a $10,000 program which helped Create what he felt was the music he should have been making from the start.
Sin City Cairo Released his, “Just listen Ep” in late 2012, but was lost looking for a way to get his music out to its proper audience. During this time Sin City Cairo was introduced to EpicFive, who approached Sin City Cairo with an proposition to collaborate together on a Comedy Prank Channel on Youtube. Sin City Cairo spent the next six month working with EpicFiveTv and building the channel. EpicFiveTv’s pranks were featured on WorldStarHipHop multiple times but were later dropped due to Lack of Promotion on EpicFiveTv’s part. Once the channel started to create revenue that’s when EpicFive decided that he wanted Sin City Cairo to pay for half the equipment that was purchased by EpicFive for his own Channel. Sin City Cairo felt that he was be getting cheated and decided to leave the channel.
Today, Sin City Cairo is working with Camel Hump Music on what he hopes to be his break through Mixtape. He is currently releasing singles on youtube in effort to create a buzz for, “Dreaming While Awake” a mixtape composed of the rappers struggles, heart breaks, down falls and celebrations that helped mold him into the artist he is today.
