Next Era artists Reyel the Ruler and Wordplay J of Woodbridge, VA team up for the collaboration EP titled “Xtended Energy” with production from Karma Kavya, Low K3y, and Phresh.
Wordplay J and Reyel the Ruler of Woodbridge, VA make up Next Era, along with fellow artist Jalen Basquiat. Wordplay J attends the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and Reyel the Ruler attends Old Dominion University, so being around such a diverse group of people has had a huge impact on their life and how they approach making music “for people.” Hip Hop is just one of the many influences on their style and creation of music; when it comes down to it, they just make good, real music about life that takes influence from all “genres” of music.
