Nas Shares Vintage Picture With His Father

In celebration of the Time Is Illmatic film, Nas shared a picture on his Instagram account with his father and Jazz musician Olu Dara, both of which worked together on Illmatic as Dara played the trumped on the album track “Life’s a Bitch.” His fater also working with him on the 1998 film Belly, which Nas co-wrote and starred in.

“My dad is one of my biggest influences and even did his own thing on #Illmatic. He always thought I was gonna be a trumpet player but I ended up rhyming instead. #TimeisIllmatic.”
