E.L.P.J. (DMV) – “Verbal Technique Vol. 1” Mixtape
Eric L. Powell Jr. (E.L.P.J.) is a 16 year-old emcee and poet from the DMV (DC, MD & VA) area. Born and raised in the culture of Hip Hop, it was destined that E would pick up the mic. E started rhyming around the age of 9 or 10 and in 2011, at the age of 14, self-released his first free EP/mixtape, Visions In Blue, via the Internet, featuring songs such as “Visions In Blue”, “The Return”, and“The Ink of the Scholar”. He also collaborated with North Carolina producer J Blacco, who created the beats for much of the EP, on a remix album, “Visions In Blue 1.5-Carolina Blue Edition”. From there he started building his buzz with enumerable performances throughout the DMV area, and more recently in Philly, Durham, and New York City. He’s released various singles, most notably, “DMV, Right On Time”, an anthem dedicated to his region rapped over the Canei Finch produced Kendrick Lamar banger, “Westside, Right On Time”.In the summer of 2013, he put out his second mixtape, Verbal Technique Vol. 1.
