Mixtape Review: AcademY (Trenton, NJ) – “The Grow Up Plan”

The Academy has just released their sophomore Mixtape titled “The Grow Up Plan”.  This Post College Graduate Hip Hop group respectfully showed all critics that college educated men can also make great Hip Hop. It’s a 11 track Mixtape filled with great perspectives on how the Hip Hop lifestyle is when all MC’s of the group are college educated.  Incorporating hardcore relentless lyrics, dope beats and a style that is somewhat EGO oriented, which they have every right to have big ego’s.  Honestly Its really rare to find quality Hip Hop artists that are actually college grads.  It’s a great mixture of conscious, motivational, hardcore and smooth Hip Hop all in one.  They have a music video titled “Skyscrapers” which is off this project, allowing all Hip Hop fans to become instant fans.

The title alone is a huge statement “The Grow Up Plan”.  Every college grad must have a plan for their lives, so for any college grad that doesn’t have a solid plan after college then this Mixtape is for you.  Being able to relate with music is a great thing and why not listen to MC’s that are livin it…………….@UGHHBLOG
