NugLife – “The People Who” EP (Album Review)
Producer/recording artist out of Los Angeles, NugLife is expecting to have a breakout year with the release of his new EP, The People Who. A 7-track introduction effort that moves the newcomer from behind the boards and into the limelight.
NugLife often leaped before he looks a lot on the album due to plenty of headstrong lyrics. On tracks like, Nug comes off arrogant by standards. The L.A.-native naturally handles the production on the entire project. His sound is smooth, jazzy, and vintage at the core. Takes us back to the 90s sonically with the keys instrumentals.
Among the seven tracks, NugLife verbal experimental have the best results on tracks, “Walk It Off” and “Break Free”. Vibes of identifying the individuals as royalty and addressing the haters that he is all the way up.

The EP’s carried by it’s five-out-of-seven song features. Nug grabs up plenty of them to lift majority of the workload of him lyrically. With so many features, you will easily get lost in who NugLife is as a recording artist. However, with mint production, it’s difficult to complain on Nug not spitting enough on the EP.
The People Who is great start for newfound fans. NugLife appears to be in a transition phrase lyrically. With a familiar sound, metaphors, and production, it’s easily identified that Nug is looking to maintain a pace with the popular sound of today’s bubble-gum radio-friendly content. Not really giving us much insight of himself but more of what believed to be acceptable to the general public. While understood that an EP is a mixture of short-tells to get a feel of what people like about an artist; however, at times Nug often finds himself more emulating than originating.
