Divante Elias Rodriguez, better known by his stage name of REX RODRI was born May 7th, 1992 in Boston, Mass. and migrated from state to state including Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia, and Florida. He was raised by a single father who had just turned 18 when he was born! Adjusting to always being the “new kid” in a new school every year became like a second nature until he moved back to Wilmingto…n, Delaware from Florida and attended William Penn High School for the remainder of his education.
Divante started writing music when he was thirteen years old in his fathers car while listening to an instrumental CD he found on his walk to school. He, nor did anybody else take his writing seriously at the time causing him to tuck away the pen and pad and forget all about it. Being the average growing teenger, he started writing and recording bad quality “spoof” tracks when he was fifteen just for laughs with friends who listened beyond the witty punches and “hairy nipple” lines. With no support for his music after High School, he decided to hang up the gloves once again and focus on his Degree in Digital Media at Virginia Wesleyan College. A semester passes before he decides that this wasn’t where he wanted to be and moved to Philadelphia, Pa to attend Chestnut Hill College. After only a month he packed his dorm up and moved back to Wilmington, De to pick up classes at Wilmington University. Starting to realize that college simply was not for him, he dropped out of school all togethor!
