CP The Hippie – Q&A Interview
Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? How long have you been making Hip Hop?
I was born and raised in West Palm Beach, FL then later attend high school and Atlanta, GA. I started writing rappin when I was 12, I stop for a second because I was more into sports (football and track). I start again around the of 21 my junior of college, and here I am today (lol).
What influences you in making Hip Hop?
Being different, trying different thing on a track and taking risk to create something new.
Describe your music, and what separates you from other MCs?
My music is very personal I rap things that actually happen in my life from girl to my personal flaws. How being raised in the south shape they way I see the world today.
Who have you collaborated with?
Who would you like to collab with in the near future? I did collaboration with a couple local artist (Tiki Jenkins, Kid Ty and JeanuisBeats), but I would like to collab with Chance The Rapper I love the energy he bring to the track him and the whole save money squad, Mick Jenkins as well.
Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?
Underground Hip Hop to me is being true to yourself and not changing for mainstream hype.
Production wise, who are your influences? Who does your production?
And who would you like to work with? My Engineer T.Ross at Evenform studios does my production. I’ve been working with him for all most 2 years now, he knows what I like and I know what he can do its vibe type thing.
Any current or future projects you are promoting?
Right now I been working on and promoting my ep “HER” coming soon, just making sure its perfect before I release it.
How was your SXSW 2015 Experience?
SXSW was dope!!! First time being and Texas with my partner Tiki Jenkins. We had to show we also attend couple venues one being UGHH Blog venue at Karma Lounge, got to see Kyle Bent he was dope, But it was a great experience hope to come back and perform for you’ll next year.
