Wyld 7 – Q&A Interview

Wyld 7 Q&A

Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? How long have you been making Hip Hop?

I’m a hiphop/rap artist out of Central Florida. I’ve been involved with music for virtually about 8-9 years.

What influences you in making Hip Hop?
What influences me to make music is everything across the board. Literally the street life, normal shit, having fun & all the way to anime shows even.

Describe your music, and what separates you from other MCs?

My music is me. I won’t tell you I’m the realist out, I’m just going to rap. I won’t argue or be cocky about nothing. I just go in. You can hear the hunger and sound in my voice when I spit. Not to mention I grow more and more authentic with every song. So what separates me would have to be my versatility. A lot of others have one set style and they stay in that lane.  I find that it gets boring sometimes. someday I want to do gangsta songs, other days a drinking song, maybe I want to try to pull a drake here and there and sing a bit.haha. But it’s rare to see artists step out of their set box. I’m not afraid to do that.

Who have you collaborated with? Who would you like to collab with in the near future?

I don’t really have many collaborations to speak on other than with my homie Brown aka Mr. Roe, he always snaps when I get him on a song. But mainly I like to keep a beat to myself sometimes cause I feel I can bring it out better than others might, or I feel I need to get something off my chest. In the feature I hope to collaborate with some Philly/Jersey artists. Like Dark Lo, Tsu Surf, Shotgun Suge, people of that nature really. Kevin Gates & Nipsey Hussle would be a mega thing as well.

Your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?

My definition of Underground HipHop is someone who can make songs that do numbers like commercial hits, but it’s not a commercial song per se. So in the essence of Nipsey Hussle or Joey Badass, someone who stays to their roots and maintains their real style without having to switch up to reach success.

Production wise, who are your influences? Who does your production? And who would you like to work with?

I’d have to say Alchemist is a huge one. I love when he’s on the boards. Like once the beat starts, you can tell it was him. Drake’s whole production team. They pull out some mega crazy hard work. DJ Premier And J Dilla as well, rest in peace. Most of my production comes from a mix of the 808 Orchestra & J Dot of the SuperProducers. I would love to work with Lil Fame of M.O.P., Alchemist, Mannie Fresh, Pharrell, Noah “40” Shebib, & Pete Rock to name a few. Deff Rick Rubin too.

Any current or future projects you are promoting?

Currently working on two projects. One’s a collaborative tape with the 808 Orchestra, exclusively just us. Also currently working on my next project. It’s going be off the wall. It’ll be my styles and stuff, but I expect to surprise people with it.

Can you give us a brief description of the creative process of 7s Are Wyld? Also/ tell us a little bit about the conceptand idea behind your Mixtape Cover Art.

It was finally my chance to have straight complete control from the beats chosen, to what the songs about, to what went on the tape. So I figured what better way to show people who I am than to go wyld on it. I wanted to show that I’m more than gangsta rap. I can do chill songs, lyrical songs, and all that. So it was basically to get my foot in the door and say “I’m here, and you don’t have a choice but to play my music, cause I got something for everybody!” haha. The idea behind the cover for the tape was virtually the same as the overall project. I wanted to show craziness. Just mayhem, and I didn’t feel that would’ve really been grasped well with real pictures. Or at least be photoshopped thoroughly enough. I refused to do anything but a cartoon/drawing for it.

Where can we find your music and info?

Easiest way possible, www.Wyld7.com. All my stuff is there. You can even go on Google or any other site like YouTube, Soundcloud, Reverbnation, iTunes etc, just type in “Wyld 7”.
